Ace da Youngin
Ace Da Youngin (Adrienne J. Gouch) was born in Waterbury, CT and raised in the Hartford county area. He grew up a basketball player all his life and used this talent as a tool to travel the country. Playing in different arenas allowed Ace to view life from different perspectives, which would later influence his style of music. From as far back as he can remember, music has always been in his heart. As a child, in the early 90’s, Ace would go to his cousin’s room to see what new tapes his cousin bought so he could listen and write out the lyrics of each song. After the tragedy of his mother, Martha "Muffet" Johnson, passing away right in front of his eyes at the tender age of six, Ace was forced to grow up fast and understand things at an early age which played a major role in his life. Moving in with his father, Ace had to adhere to strict rules. To make time pass when he was stuck in the house with his older brother to clean, him and his brother would create music. His older brother would beat box while Ace Da Youngin would freestyle off the top of his head*. *
Inspired by legendary artists such as Canibus, Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, Wu-Tang, Michael Jackson, Ace decided to write his own music down on paper to see if he could put a verse together. Ace grew up as very humorous person who loved to laugh and joke, which tied in with his music as punch lines. As he listened to Jadakiss's first album, Kiss The Game Goodbye, Ace was moved to write his first verse, which consisted of a single sheet of paper with punch lines written everywhere. The punch lines were written on both sides of the paper; upside down, left and right. As Ace kept filling up the papers with sporadic lines all over, he eventually turned these lines into what would be his first complete verse. Ace only revealed his musical talent to his close peers and kept it concealed to the rest of the world. He did not show off his talent to be cool like others. He just had a love for music locked inside and did not want to share his secret with anyone because of his shyness.
One day after having a long talk with God, Ace felt like it was time to share his talent in a positive way and help bring hip-hop back to the light. After traveling all over the country and getting different feels of music and cultures he takes that all in and uses it to his advantage. Born on the east coast, one time living in North Carolina, Kansas, and California would let him see different lifestyles and learn how to adapt in those environments.* *
